Candidate for Newtown Township Supervisor
He adds: “It’s about doing the right thing, not about being right.”
Along with attorney Melissa Merk, Ed is running on a promise to preserve Newtown’s legacy as a thriving community dedicated to balancing its cherished open space with its booming small businesses.
For the last four years, he has served as the Judge of Elections for Newtown District 6 at Goodnoe Elementary School. “The District 6 team has always done a great job and made being judge easy,” Ed says.
A Newtown resident for close to eight years, Ed and his wife, Abby, have enjoyed Newtown’s appealing combination of access to nature with everyday convenances. “You have everything you need without having to leave town, and you also have excellent access to hiking and biking,” he says. A beloved pastime is kayaking the Delaware River.
Ed’s career in software development has allowed him to work in an array of fields, including fifteen years developing the technology to build vehicles and equipment for the U.S. Army and Airforce. A longtime motorcycle enthusiast, a favorite job was working in technology development at RevZiilla, a premiere online retailer of motorcycle gear, parts and accessories.
Ed is a proponent of employing a smart, data-driven approach to preserve Newtown’s remaining open space, improving its infrastructure to make the area more walkable—particularly in increasingly traffic-dense areas—and keeping tax rates level.
“Newtown has a great balance of nature and commerce,” Ed says, “and I want to be here to help our community continue to operate at its best.”
